Green Diwali Celebration at St. Joseph Convent School, Whitefield
This Diwali, St. Joseph Convent School, Whitefield, celebrated the festival of lights in a truly meaningful way. During the morning assembly, our Principal, Sister Malar Joseph, addressed the students and spoke about celebrating Diwali in an eco-friendly manner. She highlighted the harmful effects of bursting crackers and encouraged everyone to choose a greener and more responsible way of celebrating the festival.
To put this message into action, students from Classes 1 to 10, along with their teachers, participated enthusiastically in a sapling-planting activity within the school campus. Students planted saplings, symbolizing hope, growth, and a cleaner environment. The campus was soon filled with the joy and excitement of children as they watered the young plants and pledged to take care of them.
This beautiful initiative not only helped students understand the importance of protecting nature but also reminded everyone that true celebration lies in spreading light, love, and life around us.
Through this “Green Diwali” activity, St. Joseph Convent School continues to inspire its students to be responsible citizens and caretakers of our planet.
